VBGIGs (globally inspired gatherings) is a FREE and low-cost performance series presented by the City of Virginia Beach to provide opportunities for residents and visitors to engage and explore the music, theater, and dance of various cultures around the world, as well as regionally-specific performing arts from around North America. Designed to inspire inter-cultural conversation and exploration through shared performance experiences, VBGIGs travels the world without the need for a passport!

Every season features programming at various venues around the city of Virginia Beach, connecting artists to both local and internationally recognized artists.All shows are family-friendly, and free or low-cost.

Advanced ticket registration is highly encouraged; walkups are welcome as long as seating is available.

The music of Mexico has long been unforgettably unique, but when the Villalobos Brothers perform their distinctive brand of contemporary folk music from Veracruz, it is electrifying, intoxicating, and extraordinary! Captivating audiences around the world, they are finally here in VB. The Grammy-Winning Villalobos Brothers will dazzle and delight you with music inspired by their childhoods in Vera Cruz, Mexico. Blending Son Jarocho, Son Huasteco, and Latin Jazz, they spark an unforgettable vision of the sound of the Mexican spirit. Their music bridges cultural divides, and their stories of immigration and achievement inspire hearts of all ages. Fall in love with Mexico, its music, and its most dynamic band of brothers!

The Villalobos Brothers have graced some of the most prestigious stages, from the halls of The Juilliard School to Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Montreal Jazz Festival, and beyond. Their collaborations include Arturo O’Farrill’s Fandango at the Wall, for which they won a Grammy Award, Bruce Springsteen, Dolly Parton, Antonio Sánchez, Regina Carter, Eduardo Magallenes, Dan Zanes, and Ana Tijoux. Their recent Symphonic Project with San Francisco Symphony, Sun Valley Symphony, Yakima and Walla Walla Symphonies played to sold-out audiences in 2022 and in 2023 they helped open the Perelman Performing Arts Center at the World Trade Center in NYC and showcased at globalFEST 2024 at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in NYC.
