The Virginia Beach History Museums welcomes visitors on the first Saturday of each month (January excepted) for our free family-oriented Community Days. Each Community Day will see a variety of children’s crafts and activities centered on a different theme. Bring your kids and immerse yourselves in the history of Virginia Beach and the wider world. Please click on the individual tour titles below for a detailed description of that week’s offering.

All Community Days are free and will take place at the Francis Land House: 3131 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Activities are available while supplies last.

Advanced registration is highly encouraged but walkups are welcome!

Description

For much of its life the Francis Land House was the center of a large plantation growing a variety of crops including flax for making linen fabric. Later, it was a dairy farm raising cows to give milk. Come learn a little about the process of making cloth from a plant and getting milk from a cow. Make a seed bomb to grow a little something in your own backyard.  Enjoy storytime at 10:30am and 11:30am.
